Illiterate tribal men and women are taught to read, write and speak the tamil language and given the basic education on health and hygiene Every adult (both men and women) are taught to sign and recognise their own names. This is the highlight of the adult education programme and prevents any further exploitation of land grabbing or other rights.

The School and Community Centre has been striving to abolish child marriages and female infanticide in the region. Their continued efforts have been fruitful and today the number is almost nil and the girl students in the school account for nearly 50 % of the total number of students.
