SPORTS & GAMES ACHIEVEMENTS

ZONAL VOLLEY BALL & FOOT BALL MATCHES

Our Junior girls’ foot ball team emerged as the zonal champions. Similarly our Junior boys’ volley ball team won the zonal champions. This was our maiden entry for the tournament.

ZONAL ATHLETIC SPORTS MEET

Salem Dt., East Zone School level athletics meet was held in St.John’s Matriculation School on 25^th and 26^th of this month. 900 Athletes from 48 Schools participated in this event. The Athletes our School surpassed the performance of all other Schools in the zone by securing the overall individual championship for Boys’ as well as for Girls’ events. In the Boys’ category, they won 18 gold, 25 silver and 11bronze medals securing 176 points to emerge as the overall champions. In the Girls’ category, they won 17 gold, 15 silver and 15 bronze to secure 145 points in order to emerge as the overall zonal champions. In the junior division, G.Sudha, won the individual championship with gold in 400m and 600m run. A total number of 65 students participated from the Tribal School for the Zonal meet.

DISTRICT LEVEL ATHLETE MEET

Salem District level athletic meet was held in Little Flower Hr.Sec.School on 24^th and 28^th of this month. Fifty three Athletes from Montfort Tribal School at Kombuthooki, 25 boys and 28 girls surpassed the performance of all other Schools in the district by securing the overall individual championship for Girls’ events and overall second positions in Boys’ events. In the Girls’ category, they won 11 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze to secure 94 points in order to emerge as the overall District champions. In the Boys’ category, they won 11 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals to secure 88 points and obtain the overall second position in the District. The girls and boys together won 182 points and secured the highest total points in the district.

31^ST TAMIL NADU STATE JUNIOR OPEN ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

In the 31^st Tamil Nadu State Junior Open Athletics Championships was held at Madurai on 1^st & 2^nd September 2017, Master Deepak Raj secured silver medal in 2000 mts in under 17 category.

DIVISIONAL ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS

Republic Day Athletic Divisional Level Athletic competitions was held at Dharmapuri District Stadium on 7^th & 8^th of September 2017. Thirty Six athletes from our School participated in this competition.  Athletes from five educational districts participate in this meet. Salem District won the overall championship for boys and girls. Our athletes did extremely well to secure the maximum points both in the boys and girls category. In the Girls’ category, they won 8 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze to secure 54 points. In the Boys’ category, they won 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals to secure 51 points. Twenty seven athletes (13 boys and 14 girls) are qualified for the State Level Athletic Competitions at Trichy to be held on 8^th & 9^th of October 2017.

63^rd Republic Day State level ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS

63^rd Republic Day Athletic State Level Athletic competitions was held at Trichy, Kongu Engineering College from 04.10.2017 to 06.10.2017. Thirty Seven athletes from our School participated in this competition.  Master Deepakraji won silver medal in 5000 mts running and bronze medal in 3000 mts running. He has qualified for the National Level Athletic Competitions which will be held at Haryana during the month of December 2017.

 NATIONAL LEVEL ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS

Master Deepakraji, one of our State Athletes participated in the National Athletic Meet held at Rohtak, Haryana, organized by School Games Federation of India.
